What is BabySteps?
BabySteps has been developed for families taking part in the study.
One parent can download the app, then you can track your baby’s milestones and earn extra vouchers through completing research activities.
By joining BabySteps, you help researchers make new discoveries about how babies grow and thrive. It’s an easy way to make the information we collect even more valuable for future generations.
We hope that taking part in the app study is engaging, interesting and fun for parents.
What can I do on BabySteps?
- take part in short monthly research activities
- earn points towards e-vouchers: 5 completed activities = £5
- play games as part of study participation
- track your baby’s milestones
- save special memories
- read short, trusted articles about child development
- stay in touch with the study team
- support research on children’s development and family life in the UK.
How do I join BabySteps?
You can download the app any time to explore its ‘Welcome’ pages.
During your interview, you’ll get a unique login code (which can be recorded below) to get fully set-up. The parent who complete the longer interview will be invited to join BabySteps. You’ll get 2 reward points for joining!
Search “Generation New Era BabySteps” in the App Store or Google Play to download.
How do I know when there’s new research activities?
Make sure to allow app notifications so you know when new research activities and rewards are available. You can change this anytime in your phone settings.
Do I have to download BabySteps?
Families are invited directly to take part during their interview. You do not have to download BabySteps if you do not want to, and you can still take part in Generation New Era.
What happens to my app information?
Your app information is:
- kept secure and confidential
- never shared with advertisers
- not used to track your location
